Welcome Day for the first-year students

of the International Education Programs – Intake 2021

(VLU, 05/9/2021) – On the morning of 01 September 2021, the International Education Institute at Van Lang University organized the Welcome Day for the first-year students of the International Education Programs – Intake 2021. The event had the presence of the University’s Administrators, the International Education Institute (IEI), and the first-year students.

The International Education Programs – Intake 2021’s Welcome Day for first-year students welcomed the first batch of students, their parents, Van Lang University’s Administrators, and International Education Institute’s Directors, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu – Van Lang University’s President, Dr. Ngo Quang Trung – Vice President and IEI’s Director, MSc. Tran Nguyen Hai Ngan – IEI’s Deputy Director, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Lan – International Students Support Center’s Deputy Director.

The ceremony welcomed International Education Programs’ students in a joyful and exciting atmosphere of the Opening Day of a new academic year.

Next to the IEI’s staff, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu – Van Lang University’s President, offered her warm and motivative welcome to the students as they were on a new exciting yet challenging path. “After 26 years of development, Van Lang University has a network of more than 200 international and local partners, 26 joint-degree programs, and more than 30 student exchange programs. The remarkable thing about the International Training Programs is that they are 100% Liverpool John Moores and the University of Newcastle’s curriculums. Thanks to this advantage, we hope the programs will offer you new engagements and make you become the ambassadors to introduce Van Lang University to the world.”

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu hoped the International Education Programs’ students would become ambassadors to bring VLU and Vietnam’s image to the world.

VLU’s IEI provided the students with general information about the programs and detailed instructions on the regulations and curriculums during the ceremony. In the first year of the Going-Global program, the students will take ESL courses and foundation courses in business, marketing, management, soft skills, and teamwork.

International Education Programs’ Overall information included a Going-Global year and the core programs in four majors: Marketing, Event Management, Finance, and International Business.

Moreover, in the first year, International Education Programs’ students could participate in international cultural exchange activities at other foreign universities such as Edge Hill University (UK), or the University of Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia); applied foreign languages and soft skills contest; or other cultural activities at a foreign country.

Students of the International Program have opportunity to participate in cultural exchange activities with the foreign universities in the first semester.

The International Education Program’s Welcome Day took place successfully. Thanks to many ice-breaking games such as Wheel of Fortune and Ring the Golden Bell, the students could get to know one another to prepare for their studies together soon. Once they had completed their English Entrance Exam, the first-year students of the International Education Programs would start their first classes on 06 September 2021 and prepare for a promising journey ahead.
